We are experiencing rapid growth for our system from the leading Wastewater Treatment Plants in Europe and are looking for a skilled financial manager. Our goal? To be the catalyst for change with our technology platform, constantly pioneering in finding ways to solve climate challenges within the wastewater industry, whilst being a world-class employer; building an agile and global team, transforming one wastewater treatment plant at a time.

Variolytics has successfully closed a growth financing round, led by Nordic Alpha Partners (NAP), with additional support from European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) (EIC), HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), and Fraunhofer Technology Transfer Fonds (FTTF). This investment propels us forward in scaling our EmiCo solution, which enables wastewater treatment facilities to:
✅ Reduce N2O emissions by up to 50%
✅ Lower energy consumption by up to 20%

Your tasks

  • Developing and implementing financial processes to support corporate goals
  • Responsible for annual budget, forecasting and 3-year financial planning.
  • Ensure high data quality (financial and commercial) to support KPI tracking, auto projection for future financial performance and providing strategic financial recommendations.
  • Develop a monthly management reporting structure which will enable decision making by management/board
  • Management accounts, cashflow management, annual audit and reporting to key stakeholders 
  • Optimizing finance and controlling processes and implementing efficient systems
  • Ensuring proper accounting and reporting in accordance with national and international accounting standards
  • Analyzing financial key figures to derive strategic recommendations for action
  • Managing internal and external reporting and communicating with investors, banks and auditors
  • Risk management and balancing cost spendings with actual financial performance
  • Ensuring compliance with and monitoring tax and regulatory requirements

Your Qualifications

  • As a finance manager, you are responsible for the financial processes in the company including implementing financial and commercial KPI tracking in line with company objectives. The position requires s strong skill set within data analytics as well as a focus on timely and quality management reporting. You will develop financial strategies, optimize internal processes and ensure that all financial decisions are well supported by financial analysis. You work closely with management to support them on the corporate strategy on the financial side.
  • Our ideal candidate has a of the ability to present financial data analysis to support strategic foresight, is innovative in problem-solving and in particularly have a strong sense of responsibility. You work conscientiously and to high quality standards to ensure that all decisions are in line with the company’s long-term goals.
  • Your other strengths include organizational talent, decisiveness, resilience and a high degree of integrity.

Your Background

  • +4 years of experience in a FP&R position or consultancy (CFO services, Transaction services, corporate finance etc.)
  • Degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a comparable qualification
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management, controlling, accounting and tax law
  • Strong skills within excel, power point and working with Business Intelligence Tools

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Hands-on mentality and a structured and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Fluent German and English
